Making memories…with donuts!

I was lucky enough to get the chance to have my niece and nephew visit from Florida for two weeks.  The first of what will hopefully become a yearly tradition.  We swam from sunrise to sunset and hit virtually every museum and hiking trail in town.  It was a really special time, and I tried to make memories for them in every way I could.  And that even meant making this donut filled breakfast a little bit of a party!

I can usually always come up with a reason a fruity pebble donut is a necessity, but this time I let the kids be the excuse!  I was inspired by the beautiful donuts from SK Donuts, and to be honest, I’m always looking for an excuse to break out my donut-shaped cookie jar.  Over the years I have collected little kitchen accessories at really reasonable prices, and I’m amazed how they find their way into all the stories I’m looking to tell.  Incorporating decor into almost everything is something I love to do.  I love the way you can completely change the vibe of a space by simply adding a new trinket or treasure.  It’s also a great way to incorporate trendier items without breaking the bank.  With stores like Target, CB2, World Market, and West Elm bringing us so many reasonably priced and great quality home decor, it’s really a no brainer!  I also can’t pass a HomeGoods without my heart beating a little faster and Anthropologie is constant source of inspiration.

When the kids came down for breakfast they were ready to dive in! The kitchen looked so fresh and my donut themed ‘shelfie’ stayed up for longer than I’m willing to admit.  It just made me so happy!  I may not have time to jazz up every little breakfast like this, but this one was extra special and fun.

THP TIP!

If you're wondering where to start, I’m always on the lookout for interesting vases or bowls.  I find that they are the accessory workhorse that can constantly be transformed with fresh flowers or fruit! I can’t wait to share how I incorporate this tip into every party we throw!

Xx,

Jo
