Sweet Magnolias Season Two!

To say I’m excited to announce that Sweet Magnolias has been picked up by Netflix for a second season is an understatement. This show means so much to me on so many levels. I always treasure when I get to experience deep personal and professional fulfillment in one experience and that is exactly what being a part of this show has given to me.

When I was sent the scripts for Sweet Magnolias last summer I had no idea how much it would change my life. I was immediately attracted to the idea of telling a story about female friendship and sisterhood. I loved the supportive and ‘ride or die’ nature of the material and that the show, led by Sheryl Anderson, was brimming with humanity. All of the relationships felt so real. Each character from beginning to end existed because they each had a story to tell, a message to deliver, and unique life experiences that were given time and space to breathe. Whether their story was in full focus or bringing the backdrop to life, so much care and consideration was given to every person that brought author, Sherryl Woods, town of Serenity to the small screen. I was invested from the moment I dipped a toe into this world and I continue to connect on even deeper levels.

I could write about my excitement and gratitude for the opportunity to continue to tell this story. To be able to work with Brooke and Heather, who fill me up when we are pouring it out; to play a character that is given the grace to be a hot mess and a superhero all in the same breath; and to work alongside some of the most genuinely beautiful actors, producers, directors, writers, and crew that I have ever crossed paths with...it really is a dream job and I’m just so happy it will live on!

I can’t imagine the twists and turns that are in store for the Magnolias and the people of Serenity. But I assure you Sheryl Anderson loves every minute we spend on the edge of our seats wondering ‘who is in the car???’, ‘will Eric and Helen finally give the audience (ME!) what we are wanting???’, ‘will there be more Farmer Jeremy or will Ronnie get a second chance? Or exactly how many ridiculously hot men can Dana Sue juggle at one time??’, ‘Cal or Bill?’, or ‘Please bring Noreen back to Serenity!!!’ .

I can also assure you I don’t have any idea what those answers may be and thanks to the pandemic the deliciously creative mind of Sheryl Anderson is delighted to have some extra time to make it all that much juicier! From what I’m told, it will be a season that will begin by giving us some MUCH needed answers, but what happens next will take everything to a whole other level.

Cheers! Here’s to Season 2 and continuing to pour it out with Helen’s Lethal Margaritas!
