THP Tid Bits: Creative Ways to Display Flowers
A home with fresh flowers is absolutely my idea of a Happy Place. Despite my cat, Prince Rainbow Sparkle’s, obsession with destroying each precious arrangement the second I put them out...I still take the time to sprinkle our house with them. I also love getting creative with ways to display them.
When the weather is still warm, I like to use a picnic basket.
I grabbed one of the small glass vases that I have collected over the years and sat it inside the basket. I snipped the stems at varying lengths and stuffed away.
I love the look of flowers in unexpected vessels. A beautiful pitcher doesn’t have to be saved for serving beverages! Pop some fresh flowers in there and it makes for a really beautiful breakfast table centerpiece.
I also love using large bowls as vessels! They make great low profile arrangements that can make a huge statement on a entryway table or coffee table.
One of my favorite tricks for creating a stable and easy foundation is making a grid out of tape or chicken wire.
Chicken wire is especially simple and inexpensive. It is also a staple in my floral kit. Laid flat or in a ball, it offers a really strong base. The result is an arrangement that appears to have a little extra movement and freedom without any of the instability.
I could go on for days about fresh flowers. And I plan on sharing all of my tips throughout the summer. I was just inspired by my shelfie arrangement and thought today would be a great day to start the conversation!
What are some of your favorite ways to creatively display flowers? I’m always looking for new inspiration!
