My Spring Break Travel Essentials
It’s Spring Break and I’m ready for a little getaway! I started shooting the pilot of my new show this week, but I’m hoping to sneak in a few trips while the girls are out of school.
At this point we have traveling down to a science in our house. We are always hopping on a plane last minute for family time at our home in Florida or chasing an adventure that Nick has cooked up for us. It doesn’t mean that I won’t be in a full sweat lugging kids and bags through the airport, but packing is a cinch because I always keep my essentials ready to go.

I always keep one of my Tory Burch makeup bags stocked with travel sized essentials. This bag has three separate smaller bags that magnetically fit into the larger one.
I don’t know about you, but I’m a sucker for all the mini offerings of my favorite products. But, let’s be honest, you don’t always get a lot of bang for your buck with many of them. So I make my own! The container store (swoon) has a million different containers that make this super easy.
I also recently found these mini funnels that keep things tidy as I’m transferring products!
I also make my own travel sized perfume atomizers so I’m never without my favorite scents!
And recently I came across these chic little glass dropper bottles in the specialty food storage section that are perfect for serums. The amber color protects against photosensitive compounds and they are tiny enough for your carry-on!
What I’m packing for clothing is totally dependent on where we are headed, but my trusty packing cubes are essential. I love the ones that CALPAK offer because they come in beautiful colors and patterns. But packing cubes of any kind are truly life savers and reduce bulk like magic...especially during sweater weather! Each person in our family has a set and it makes keeping things straight while traveling a no brainer!
When it comes to my jewelry, I always travel with most beloved pieces and keep them in my carry on or purse. So a compact case is a must. I have been using the same small Louis Vuitton case for so many years my guess is it could be considered vintage!
But I have had my eye on a couple from WOLF that are really beautiful and functional. And a couple of them will even be on my Mother’s Day gift guide!
I’m loving this compact one that can tuck away in any of your travel bags!
Thanks to Nick, I’m never without my travel ear buds and chargers because he got me this little case that always stays in my rolling bag. At first I thought it was a bit over the top, but it has really come in handy. I’m never stealing from my bedside charger or scrambling for any tech accessories!
Trust me when I say that I can stuff a bag with last minute additions, but these essentials are so helpful in keeping me organized. I’m rarely forgetting the things I need most because I’m always set up for simply having to fill my cubes or travel organizers! Travel can be so stressful and this really helps manage that for me.
Now that I have given you a glimpse of the packing part of my travel habits, should I share my ‘in air’ tricks?? It’s very thorough and often embarrasses Nick, but they really do the trick!!!
Wishing you all safe and fabulous spring travels!!!
Xx,
Jo
